Introducing
Two storey home at foot of Christchurch Port Hills, just through the tunnel from Lyttleton. 17 acres behind the property up to the top of the Port Hills, with views from alps, across christchurch and ocean. At the moment access is only via foot (almost tracked to top, but parts are very steep and rocky). Sheep kept on hills and pheasants and chickens down bottom. House is about 15 years old, open plan downstairs with large sunroom, attached garage, 3 toilets, two bathrooms, log burner in loungewhich heats upstairs also, ample firewood and pinecones. 4 bedrooms or 3 bedrooms plus study. Queen bed in study, master bedroom with ensuite and heat pump. For children in one room is bunk beds, single in another. The house is double glazed as there is truck noise from the road. We are used to this and find it doesn't disturb us at all. The convenience of where we are is that it is only 10 mins from city or 10 mins from lyttelton.
We have cable to house, broadband and wireless. Large TV in lounge (normal freeview channels, not sky) small tv/dvd set up in garage for kids. I use laptops, there is one available to use, albiet old - good for internet connection. Other basics, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave to make life easier.
Lot of outdoor fun for children, swings, walkways up through bush to top paddock, sheep tracks, tree bridge. Takes about 20 mins plus to walk to top of hill to see view. On a cloudy day sometimes you can be in the clouds, or above, quite spectacular. Surrounding are other farms, some council land with walkways. Can see across to gondula and castle rock just on side of Lyttelton tunnel. Also can see over to Ferrymead and Sumner coastline, New Brighton Peer, then around other side to Christchurch, AMI Stadium and some of the Alps.
