About our home

Ours is a comfortable, clean and spacious family home in the most desirable area of Aberdeen. It is a victorian terraced house built around 1880 with some lovely original features like woodwork, plasterwork and fireplaces. We have 3 large bedrooms, 2 with kingsize beds and 1 with twin beds. The fully equipped kitchen is where we eat and socialise mostly but we like to gather in the dining room for special occasions. These rooms look West out over the mature and private back garden which is a haven for wildlife with a frog pond, 2 Eucalyptus trees, shrubs and flowerbeds to attract the butterflies and bumblebees. At the other end of the garden the kids enjoy the large trampoline and a safe back lane to play ball. We enjoy mountain biking and trailbiking so keep an array of bike gear for your enjoyment.

Our house is in the posh West End of the city opposite 2 lovely parks and is an oasis of calm in the city. There is a bus stop within 2 minutes walk, the railway station is a 10 minute drive while the airport is a 30 minute drive. Town is a 20 minute walk. Aberdeenshire has over 50 golf courses to choose from and the tricky thing is deciding where to start, from the links along the beach to Royal courses and the highest course in Britain at Braemar. Stop along the way and try your hand at angling for salmon and rainbow trout in the many rivers, lochs and farms in the area. The Cairngorm National Park is the largest in Britain and at only 3.5 hours away, is my favourite place and boasts all the outdoorsy sports and pastimes that you will need in any short stay in the mountains and still provides excellent local services to complete your enjoyment or rejuvination. It even has an ancient Caledonian Pine forest and an adventure park. Ideally located for touring Scotland, Aberdeen offers easy access (around 2.5 hrs) north to Inverness, the home of Culloden and the Loch Ness Monster, and south to Edinburgh our Capital City. We are on the whisky and castle trails and nearby Royal Deeside and Balmoral Castle, Her Majesty's holiday home, is a favourite day out. Aberdeen is a cosmopolitan city and this is reflected in the wide variety of restaurants, cafes and pubs. Our house is in the leafy West End of the city and is near some lovely parks. We enjoy award winning shops on our doorstep and often wander round the neighbourhood in the evenings admiring the stunning and very beautiful granite architecture.
