Echebrune is a small hamlet where most of the life still runs around pineau and cognac making. There is no shop, but we do have a small school. Everyday shopping is 7km, in Pons, a small miedeval town, where foreigners can enjoy the French class offered by the local cultural Center. The village is close to several towns of interest (Cognac and Jonzac are 17km away, and Saintes is 25km away). Two larger cities are within one hour driving : Bordeaux to the South and La Rochelle to the North. The area abounds in history and culture (from prehistoric and roman sites, to amazing churches and abbayes, and wine and cognac estates). The Atlantic islands and beaches are one hour away. This is the perfect place for who wants to enjoy a really authentic French rural life.

For long-term, we are looking for a friendly place where Anna could join a local school for three months (in French or English), where Jan could easily reach a good library and where Caroline could have access to Internet. We have an outdoor cat that would need to be fed (the neighboors feed her when there is nobody home for several days). We would take great care of your home and your pets if needed.
